Satellite data indicates that Earth's inner radiation belt has been breached. The Arase satellite discovered electrons accelerating inside the Van Allen belt, which disproves earlier ideas about the belt's protection. This might influence space weather and satellite operations. The data indicates that killer electrons can break through a barrier thought to be unbreakable, so scientists need to update their models and protect satellites better.
