Coles has bumped up the price of its paper bags, drawing a wave of criticism from Australian shoppers online. Some customers have called the move "un-Australian", with frustration flooding social media platforms.

The price rise adds to broader cost-of-living pressure on grocery shoppers. Woolworths also increased the price of a budget staple around the same time, leaving many Australians under pressure at the checkout.
